Calvert Beer

Calvert Beer Co. is the successor to the original Calvert Brewing Company of Maryland. The original Calvert Brewing, founded in 2014 and known as Maryland’s first designated farm brewery, closed its Upper Marlboro location in early 2024 due to rent increases and business challenges. The new Calvert Beer Co., operated by a mother-daughter team, acquired the original company’s recipes and labels and currently contracts brewing to keep the brand alive. They continue to produce popular Maryland-style beers like 7th State Lager and Route 4 IPA, maintaining local flavor despite no longer having their own brewing facility.
