1623 Brewery

1623 Brewing Company is a family-owned craft brewery located in Eldersburg, Maryland. Founded by cousins Mike McKelvin and Zac Rissmiller, the brewery’s name reflects the 1,623 miles between their homes in Maryland and Colorado. Since opening its taproom in 2020, 1623 Brewing has become known for its spacious, welcoming environment, featuring Maryland’s largest circular concrete bar and a 1,600-square-foot patio. The brewery offers a diverse selection of beers, including IPAs, stouts, pilsners, and seasonal releases, all brewed on-site. With a strong emphasis on community, 1623 hosts regular events such as live music, trivia nights, and food truck gatherings, embodying their motto: “Family Owned, Community Driven.”
